The second full length release by the Nublu Orchestra conducted by Butch Morris documents their stunning European debut erformance at the Saalfelden Jazz Festival 2007, one of the best creative music events in the last three decades. Beautifully captured by ORF (Austrian Radio), the music exposes in a dramatic way the relentless creative energy and versatility of this unique living organism that defies any categorizations and represents a total encounter in the moment.

Forro in the Dark, the band that has been rocking Wednesday's at Nublu for the past five years is back with their sophomore release Light a Candle via Nat Geo / Nublu Records.

They are both faithful and subversive of the genre-experimentally mixing in electric guitar, elements of hip hop and electronica, and instruments foreign to forro. The result is a music that extends the essence of the style: dance music best heard live!

So, the new album was recorded almost entirely live, with minimal overdubs, capturing the high-energy performance that folks best know them for. The 13 song comprising the new album LIGHT A CANDLE, a name borrowed from a Neil Young song, was recorded at Flux Studios in NYC with the help from producer Fab and many great friends.

Mauro, Davi, Jorge and Guilherme have been touring all over the world individually with some amazing artists, but the time has come for FORRO IN THE DARK to make it all over the world together! Mauro has been involved with some amazing collaborations of late including the new Thom Yorke project.

Danish sensation Mikkel Hess aka HESS IS MORE is something like the Danish answer to both Jon Brion and the Flight of the Conchords. Hess is a skillful singer, songwriter, composer and multi instrumentalist with an eclectic sense that encompasses pop, rock, disco, jazz and electronica. Hess also has a unique distinctly poppy sense of humor that is very appealing and inviting even though it's often filtered through quite a dark almost Lars von Trier outlook. Read more

The US debut album Hits will be released June 9th.
